The following instructions should be observed prior to your surgical procedure.

1. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight prior to surgery. This includes water, coffee and juice. You may brush your teeth if you do not swallow. Please eat a light supper the evening prior to surgery with no heavy or greasy foods.

2. No make-up or nail polish is to be worn.

3. No contact lens or eyeglasses.

4. Please leave all jewelry at home or with family members.

5. Please be prompt. A minimum of 2 hours' time is required for preparation before surgery.

6. Have family members wait in the main lobby during your surgery as this is where the doctor will look for them after your surgery to tell them how you did during your operation.

7. No nasal sprays except those prescribed by your physician for 2 weeks prior to surgery.

8. No aspirin products for 2 weeks prior to and after surgery.

9. THE MORNING BEFORE COMING TO THE HOSPITAL FOR SINUS SURGERY, PLEASE SPRAY YOUR NOSE, FOUR TIMES ON BOTH SIDES, WITH AFRIN. Bring your Afrin with you to the hospital.
